Arctic Lights is intended for players ages 13 and up. Children under the age of 13 should not register for the site, and if discovered these accounts will be frozen.

AL is rated PG. Some themes in the storyline deal with mature or controversial topics such as media involvement, religion, and environment issues. Some scenes contain mild graphic descriptions (such as hunting) or romantic situations (such as kissing). In no case is the material pornographic, violent, or hateful.

The site contains a text-based role-playing forum, which takes place in the same universe as the story. Players may write about their characters engaging in romantic situations (no more than kissing) or mildly graphic situations (such as hunting or tending to wounds).

All portions of the site are heavily moderated by volunteer staff. These staff members (called "Mods") are selected via an application process, followed by a probationary period during which they are carefully trained and given clear instructions for moderating.

No personal information excluding first name and country/state may be posted on the forums, and these materials are removed on sight. Activities such as harassment are not tolerated, and are dealt with immediately upon receiving the report or discovering the situation.

Players are expected to have a basic understanding of forum etiquette and copyright infringement laws. Site rules are posted clearly in the Terms of Service and on the forum pages, and all players should read these materials prior to playing the site. Should these rules be broken, consequences will be given depending on the severity of the case. In some cases, a player’s account may be frozen (so that they are unable to continue playing).

Donations are collected in exchange for in-game rewards and added features. These donations will not be refunded under any circumstances, even if the player’s account is frozen or the site is closed. Donations sent via mail are sent at the player’s own risk.

The site does not allow multiple players to register from the same IP address. If you have multiple children or family members who wish to play the game, please contact the owner.
